Introduction

- Discuss the aims of the game and basic rules of the game of cricket.
- Select a couple of pupils to try to explain the game to the rest of the class, making it as simple as possible and then moving to a few more of the complicated and unknown rules.
- Also discuss the spirit of cricket and what the class know about this. Use any of the supporting sheets to help with discussion if required.

Main Activity

- Open ‘Who wants to be a spirit of cricket centurion quiz’ in the Activity section and begin the slideshow. Alternatively, you can use the PPT in the Downloads section of the module.
- Use the quiz as a competition between teams or use it as a whole class quiz and discussion of each of the points to help the pupils build an understanding of the spirit of cricket.
- When a question is answered incorrectly, start back to the beginning to reinforce the topics covered so far.

- Move around the class and ask the pupils to tell the rest of the class something that they have learnt about the spirit of cricket throughout the lesson.
